The Arizona Biltmore Resort & Spa in Phoenix is reopening Wright’s, its historic signature restaurant, after a renovation with a new menu featuring “American Lodge Cuisine.”
The restaurant reflects the organic architectural style of Frank Lloyd Wright, which was also the inspiration for the design of the Arizona Biltmore. “American Lodge Cuisine encompasses bold flavors, rich texture profiles and elegant but simplistic presentations,” said Executive Chef Michael Cairns. “We focus on elements and ingredients from American boutique farms, dairies and game. It reflects the rich, diverse and increasingly innovative bounty of American food products from goat cheese in Maui to organic greens in Arizona.” Menus are created weekly to take advantage of fresh seasonal ingredients in addition to tasting menus paired with appropriate wines.
The famous Biltmore Blocks, the dazzling gold-leaf ceiling and the wall of windows (the room originally was a solarium) have been restored to their original glory. Classic, high-back Mackintosh chairs with a deep wood finish are interspersed with rounded chairs covered in shimmering tones of blue-gray and gold. Outside is an herb garden and a fountain. The previous lounge is now The Wright Bar, which features a black-granite-and-wood bar with seating areas that spill onto Squaw Peak Lawn.
The Arizona Biltmore, nestled on 39 acres at the foot of the Phoenix Mountain Preserve, offers 735 guest accommodations, a spa and fitness center; two 18-hole golf courses; six restaurants, eight swimming pools and an array of recreational activities. The Arizona Biltmore is managed by Hilton Hotels and is a member of Hilton’s Waldorf-Astoria Collection.
