Almond Morgan Bay Beach Resort, the newest of the all-inclusive Almond Resorts, under the direction of consulting chef, Robert Oliver, has taken the resort chain’s eco-sensitive direction to a new, sustainable level which has proven to be a winning solution for Almond Morgan Bay, its chefs and guests, and the local fruit and vegetable growers in St. Lucia.

Under new “growing agreements” with the farmers, the resort has contracted to buy everything from baby lettuce, tomatoes and breadfruit, to parsley, thyme, peppers, zucchini and sweet potatoes. A wide array of fruits, from honeydew and watermelon to strawberries, passionfruit and bananas are part of the resort’s daily intake of organically grown produce from the local farms. Almond Morgan Bay has four restaurants offering Continental, French Creole, fresh seafood and Mediterranean cuisine.

Each farm works to a calendar contract and plants its crops according to the purchase requirement of the resort.
