Kipungani Explorer Lamu Island Introduces New Sailing Activities

East Africa’s most romantic coastal getaway, Kipungani Explorer, also became one of its most adventurous on October 1st, when the region’s most experienced watersports provider launched a host of new ocean- and creek-based activities at this legendary Lamu Island resort.

Buccaneer Diving, home of Kenya’s only PADI 5-star Instructor Diving School at The Voyager in Mombasa, officially launched a thrilling schedule of watersports activities and excursions at Kipungani. In addition to the resort’s existing fleet of five sea kayaks, guests now have access to five brand new windsurfers, two agile Laser funboats, and two child-friendly Topper dinghies. Sailing excursions are free of charge to all guests, while an experienced instructor is also on hand to provide lessons to less experienced sailors.

The sailing activities supplement a lively schedule of existing oceanic activities, including deep-sea fishing, waterskiing, tubing, and snorkelling on the colorful reefs of Manda Toto and Kinyika islands – famed as the home of Kenya’s most fearlessly friendly dolphins.
