If you want to learn to ski in a place with loads of pizzazz, then you can’t go past the diversity on offer in the American winter wonderland of Aspen/Snowmass in Colorado.
Aspen Skiing Company has opened new terrain on Snowmass Mountain exclusively for first-time skiers and snowboarders of all ages.
The new Elk Camp Meadows Learning area features a new quad chair called the Meadows Lift, two new surface lifts – both covered magic carpets – and a new ski school lounge all accessed by the Elk Camp gondola found in the new Snowmass base village.
The area is completely enclosed with no cross traffic from other trails or with skiers or riders of other ability levels. It is located at the top of the Elk Camp gondola at an elevation of 3,000 metres. This elevation ensures the best snow and coverage, particularly during the early and late season, as well as stunning views that most beginners do not get to experience until they are more advanced.
“This is a tremendous addition to for our guests,” said Julian Gregory, director of Snowmass Ski School. “This will provide an unmatched experience for our first time skiers and riders and give them the best experience possible.”
Also new this season is a beginner’s lounge at the base of Snowmass and a Beginner’s Magic retail shop at the bottom of the Elk Camp gondola, making this the most convenient learning experience available in the industry.
