Hike to the Haleakala Summit from 8,000 to 10,000 foot levels. For those less adventurous types, just going to the lookout spot and taking in the view is worth the trip.

Wine connoisseurs can make a trip to the Ulupalakua Ranch and Winery to get a taste of Hawaiian Maui wine, walk in the gardens, or shop at the ranch store. Hawaii’s King Kalakaua used to visit this quaint and historic ranch in the 1870s.
