The guide, cook and horsemen trek with the group, rather than having staff at the lodges. At the end of the day guests enjoy wine in a common area as the chef and kitchen crew prepare that night’s incredible meal.
The lodges are well-appointed, so the trip, while challenging, is done in high style.
The Inka Villas Urubamba are upscale villas in the Sacred Valley of the Incas.
Each comes with a Quechua woman from the local village trained to cater to up market travelers.
After determining the guests’ choice for dinner from among Peruvian specialties, she visits the market and then shows how to prepare the dishes.
Those not interested in cooking can sip Chilean red wine and enjoy the appetizers, such as a variety of fresh Peruvian potatoes with yellow pepper and olive dipping sauces.
