The M Resort, Spa and Casino, a $1 billion resort to be completed in March of 2009 on South Las Vegas Boulevard, has signed an exclusive agreement with The Lightship Group to debut a flying electronic lightship — one of only three in the world — beginning in September.
The M Resort will be home to the twin-engine A-170LS video lightship, which is essentially an electronic lightsign on a blimp.
Utilizing an array of LEDs (light emitting diodes), the lightship will feature a 70-inch by 30-inch aerial television screen.
It will be able to broadcast a multitude of media, including live television, streaming video, websites and static images.
Flying above the Las Vegas valley, The M Lightship and its 2,100-square-foot advertising screen will be visible to thousands of residents and many of the nearly 40 million visitors coming to the city each year.
