FIRST OF THREE NEW VICEROYS FOR 2009
Luxurious Viceroy hotel brand arrives on East Coast with provocative design by Kelly Wearstler; Viceroy Anguilla and Viceroy Snowmass will continue the grandeur with 2009 openings -
(Miami, FL) – Ushering in an unprecedented year for Kor Hotel Group’s Viceroy brand, Viceroy Hotels, Resorts & Residences is pleased to announce the inauguration of the glamorous Viceroy Miami on February 12. Interiors by Kelly Wearstler will enchant both business and leisure travelers alike, with an eclectic sensibility that has become synonymous with Viceroy’s sophisticated look. As the first of three new-build Viceroys set to launch in 2009, the East Coast opening of Viceroy Miami sets into motion a strategic expansion of the brand.
Viceroy brings its singular lifestyle experience to Miami as centerpiece of the groundbreaking ICON Brickell complex in the city’s burgeoning downtown. The 50-story residential-hotel asserts its polished spirit with a mélange of residential dwellings, see-and-be-seen dining locales, transcendental spa experiences and a host of unexpected delights that hallmark Viceroy’s call to cultured living. Housed in the ultra-modern architecture of Arquitectonica, Viceroy shares ICON’s “city within a city” with two additional residential towers and an astounding, two-acre amenities deck open to the tropical air. The limited-time introductory “Viceroy Miami Debut” promotion offers guests significant value with a third night complimentary.
“2009 represents a landmark year for Viceroy with three new properties set to open by year-end,” said Brad Korzen, CEO and Founder of Kor Hotel Group. “As the first step in this expansion, Viceroy Miami’s enticing design and urbane sensibility succinctly capture the Viceroy lifestyle. Each one of the properties opening this year promises to transport guests to a refined reality that builds on the spirit of its unique location – cosmopolitan center, beachfront retreat and mountain idyll.”
Come Summer 2009, Viceroy Anguilla Resort & Residences will herald the brand’s international presence, and in December, Viceroy Snowmass Resort & Residences will triumph Kor Hotel Group’s “Second Nature” initiative as one of the first LEED-certified Silver hotels in North America.
Viceroy Miami: A Graceful Mingling of Elegance and Whimsy
Tapping her talent for sophisticated cultural interplay, Kelly Wearstler has intertwined modern polish with timeless Asian accents in the design of Viceroy Miami’s 162 guestrooms. This style also extends to the hotel lobby, a signature restaurant, event spaces and an exclusive rooftop lounge with pool on the 50th floor reserved for Viceroy guests and ICON homeowners. A rich color palette offsets classic forms and organic finishes, creating an intimate tone across the grand scale of ICON’s glass and steel profile.
Viceroy Miami’s guestrooms and suites offer luxurious comforts, personalized touches and modern necessities. On the 15th floor, Viceroy’s signature restaurant will serve contemporary American cuisine by a soon-to-be-announced acclaimed chef, in a setting overlooking ICON Brickell’s impressive pools. A private balcony area offers seating for 16 and views across Miami. Open to the public, the restaurant spills out onto a two-acre outdoor “living room” that unites the ICON towers and houses an array of amenities and entertainment options.
The focal point of ICON’S theatrical amenities deck is a 300-foot water feature, with a wading pool, 50-person hot tub and the longest infinity-edge pool in Florida. Along the way reside the poolside Café Icon, an outdoor fireplace fronted by a mosaic “rug,” and a whimsical life-size chess set.
Also located on the open-air deck is ICON’s 28,000 square-foot urban spa with fitness center which is managed and operated by Viceroy. Dramatic and airy, The Spa centers around a 5,000 square-foot Water Lounge staged as a floating “library,” with wading pool, waterborne sofas, three hot-and-cold plunge pools, fireplace, and lofty thirty-foot ceilings.
The destination spa also offers 10 treatment rooms, a redwood sauna, a eucalyptus-infused steam room, “his” and “hers” relaxation areas, and a screening room for guest speakers.
Atop the 50th floor of Viceroy Miami, Club 50 offers the city’s most exclusive indoor-outdoor lounge and private rooftop pool, with spectacular views unequalled in Miami. This airy yet intimate escape invites lounging well after sunset with specialty drinks and light fare.
Viceroy Miami is located at 485 Brickell Avenue in downtown Miami, Florida. Nightly rates for “Viceroy Miami Debut” package are based on the best available rate for a three-night booking with third night complimentary. Price excludes tax and service charges. Valid through March 31, 2009. Nightly Rack Rates at Viceroy Miami start at $500 per night. Reservations can be made by calling (866) 781-9924 or visiting www.viceroymiami.com

The new flights are to run three days per week; Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. These will then become the first direct flights from London to Bodrum, and also by the biggest name to announce direct flights to Bodrum. The news follows the recent announcement that major airline Pegasus are to run new flights to from London to Bodrum via Istanbul.

Visitor numbers to Turkey reached 23million for 2008, — as projected — and are projected to reach 30 million for 2009. These new flights will help ensure these projections are met, by giving tour operators more flights around which to base package holidays, increasing occupancy for owners of resort properties in Bodrum (http://www.spotblue.co.uk/property_296.asp)
“But perhaps the fact that the flights are to be run by low cost airline EasyJet is most beneficial to owners and potential buyers of Bodrum property,” continued Walker: “because it gives British holiday makers access to short affordable flights, thus making private holiday rentals in Bodrum more appealing.
This will increase occupancy on privately rented properties in Bodrum, thus upping rental yields and making Bodrum property more appealing to pure investors and holiday home investors.”

ExpertFlyer.com — Empowering the Frequent Flyer
ExpertFlyer.com, the premier air travel information tool offering complete and efficient ways to access the ever changing details of worldwide air travel information, continues to offer its subscribers with an inside track to finding ever-elusive airline Award tickets and Upgrades. The company disclosed today that it had found 1,750 Award tickets and upgrades for its subscribers during December and January and more than 2,750 since November 1, a period that is arguably the busiest in the travel industry. To date, ExpertFlyer’s advanced search technology has found more than 20,000 awards and upgrades since the company introduced its Flight Alerts feature in April, 2006.
Due to the economic climate and reduction in overall executive business travel, the number of business and first class tickets actually purchased has decreased dramatically, which is good news for business travelers and frequent flyers looking to use miles to upgrade. This current trend in business travel, combined with ExpertFlyer’s advanced search technology, gives its customers a real advantage over other travelers looking to upgrade their seats.
The overwhelming success of the company’s “search and discover” efforts continue to be based on three primary features of its website: Awards & Upgrades, a new feature which makes it even easier for subscribers to initiate an award or upgrade search;
Flights Alerts, which notifies passengers when an award or upgrade becomes available on specified flights; and Mobile Access, a feature which allows subscribers to access account information including saved Flight Queries, Flight Alerts, and Seat Maps from anywhere in the world from a web-enabled phone or PDA.
“The ability of ExpertFlyer to consistently identify available Award tickets and Upgrades provides a viable option for our customers to reduce their travel budgets in ‘real dollars’ without sacrificing the need to conduct business as usual, especially in these difficult economic times,” says Chris Lopinto, President and co-founder of www.Expertflyer.com
“Our job in any economy is to help business travelers and frequent flyers find the best value for their specific travel needs. However, our ability to consistently find ways for travelers to substitute miles for dollars, especially now, will give travelers even greater options for conducting business without sacrificing business opportunities,” Lopinto added.
Business travelers and frequent flyers who want to learn more about what ExpertFlyer is doing to make airline travel more convenient and satisfying can go to ExpertFlyer’s blog at http://blog.expertflyer.com or visit the website at http://www.expertflyer.com

With technology changing and artists becoming more skilled, for the first time both dinosaurs and their environment are being recreated for “Animal Armageddon.”
“Pushing technology and the artists’ skill to create entire photoreal environments was the lynchpin of this show,” explains Jason McKinley, Owner Radical 3D. “We are proud to offer ground-breaking effects for every one of our entertainment and advertising projects.”
Radical 3D will produce more than 4 hours of original hi-def CGI for the eight part series that will premiere in February 2009.
