Mexico City New Tourism Brand

Mexico City Tourism launched a new brand identity for the city at this year’s Tourism Tianguis, held April 26 to 29, 2009 in Acapulco.
The new logo, which features a black ink-like drawing of the city’s statue Angel de la Indépendencía, colored in yellow, with streaks of yellow, light blue and brown through the words “Ciudad de México,” stacked on top of each other to the right of the statue design and below that, the slogan “Capital en Movimiento,” or “Capital in Movement.”
The new logo and slogan were created to position the city as being unique and different and to allow Mexico City to be rapidly identified as a destination for potential tourism or potential business. Mexico City receives annually 12 million national and international tourists who overnight in the hotels and 20 million day visitors.
