Preferred Hotel Group™ is pleased to announce its newest member – The Upper House – under the Preferred Hotels® & Resorts collection of luxury properties, featuring more than 185 of the world’s most desirable destinations and newly discovered havens.

Opening in October 2009, The Upper House is conveniently located within Pacific Place in Admiralty, Hong Kong Island’s premier integrated commercial and retail complex in the business district with the convenience of a range of efficient public transportation options at its doorstep. The intimate 117-room hotel is designed using natural materials, distinctive sculptures and original artwork. The contemporary Oriental design aims to provide a feeling of residential calmness and understated luxury.

The hotel’s 117 rooms, all featuring scenic harbour or island views, including 21 suites and 2 penthouses, start at 730sq ft – the largest in Hong Kong. Bathrooms of over 300 sq ft framed with panoramic windows, come with walk-in rain showers, separate dressing areas and deep soaking baths. Every guest can enjoy the complimentary in-room bar, dual temperature wine fridge, espresso machine, wireless Internet access and 2.1 surround sound with connectivity to PC, camcorder and MP3. The hotel will be the first in Hong Kong to provide Lexus hybrid cars for airport transfers.

The restaurant – Café Gray Deluxe, a 21st century ‘grand café’ located on the 49th floor overlooking Victoria Harbour – marks the return of celebrated chef Gray Kunz from New York to Hong Kong featuring his signature dishes from his experience in the finest kitchens of Europe, Asia and America. The vibrant restaurant is highlighted by a 14 metre long open kitchen and equally long bar. The Sky Lounge is a warm and inviting lounge with a fireplace on the same floor and there is an outdoor lawn on the 6th floor for intimate events.
