IslandsEscapes by Goway unveiled a new range of custom wedding packages for North Americans. Previously, foreign visitors were required to reside in French Polynesia for 30 days before a legal ceremony could be performed.
Goway has offered symbolic, traditional Polynesian weddings or vow renewals for over 10 years, but due to legislation, these were not legal weddings, and normally included as part of the honeymoon.
“Now that travelers can legally marry in Tahiti, it is a memorable destination that competes with the Caribbean for destination weddings,” said Meghan Boyd, product and marketing manager for Goway’s Idyllic Islands brand.
For couples looking for an exotic destination wedding, or a small, intimate ceremony, the Islands of Tahiti are now an option. Many resorts on the islands offer chapels, the most spectacular being the Blue Lagoon Chapel at the Intercontinental Bora Bora Resort & Thalasso Spa.
Goway’s team is able to customize wedding packages, honeymoon trips, as well as plan for the entire wedding party. Goway also offers an online honeymoon registry which allows clients to register for their trip.
“The honeymoon registry provides an innovative way of gift giving. Not only is it easy to use, it is much more convenient than visiting a department store, printing pages off a gift registry and searching through the store to find one of the many items on the list,” said Boyd.
