This winter the Trianon Palace Versailles, Waldorf Astoria Collection, is launching its own ice skating rink and Christmas market from Dec. 12 through Jan. 6.

The 1,290-square-foot ice skating rink will be located on the terrace of the hotel offering views of the property’s park as well as the Chateau de Versailles’ royal gardens.

Skate rentals cost 10 euros ($15) per hour for adult and children. The ice skating rink will be open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. and on Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday from 2 p.m. until 9 p.m.

To keep warm, guests can visit the external bar near the rink and indulge in hot chocolates and mulled wine.

To complement the ice rink, the Trianon Palace Versailles is also organizing a Christmas market on the grounds of the property.

Twelve log cabins will be filled with sweet and savory treats prepared in the hotel’s two-Michelin-star kitchen as well as luxury and quality gifts for those searching for Christmas presents and stocking stuffers.

Gifts include Guerlain beauty products and spa vouchers, Christmas decorations, Trianon Palace Versailles branded champagne, smoked salmon, foie gras and caviar.

The Trianon Palace Versailles is offering a special Festive Period package starting at 249 euros ($366). The Festive Period package, available Dec. 12 until Jan. 3, includes English breakfast in La Veranda restaurant; a welcome glass of champagne, per person; a VIP in-room gift; complimentary ice skate rental; free access to the Guerlain Spa; and upgrade to the next available room category, upon availability.
