With Christmas officially just just weeks away it’s time to start organising silly season parties and Christmas Day menus. Kingfisher Bay Resort can help this process by taking the ‘hassle’ out of planning parties and the ‘hard work’ out of Christmas Day lunch.

Forget four stars – an open-air poolside party on the world’s largest sand island is a four-million star event. The evening starts with a leisurely cruise across the Great Sandy Strait followed by live entertainment and a seafood buffet poolside.

Christmas party packages start from $190 per person, twin share and include resort hotel room, seafood buffet, live entertainment, beverage package, return marine transfers and hearty buffet breakfast.

And come December 25 fresh seafood, and lots of it, will be the order of Christmas Day with the resort’s chefs giving their traditional festive menus the Fraser Island touch.

The Resort’s signature Seabelle restaurant is offering an exquisite six-course dining experience against a seasonal backdrop of Wattle, Swamp Banksia and native Mistletoe, which will be in seasonal bloom in and around the resort.

The stunning 6-course Christmas menu features fresh produce with a bush tucker twist. Traditional turkey breast will be served with pepperberry and illawara plum stuffing, and the Christmas ham will be glazed with honey.

Cheap Flights from Expedia.com.auNot to be outdone, popular buffet restaurant Maheno, the Maheno Lounge, the Dingo Deck (outdoors and poolside) and Kingfisher Ballroom will serve up a fresh seafood selection and the freshest local produce during their Christmas celebrations.

Oysters, crabs, mussels, king prawns and Moreton Bay bug dishes will adorn the Christmas buffet along with a mouth-watering selection of continental meats, Christmas honey-glazed ham, slow oven-roasted beef with a pesto crust, roast turkey with sage stuffing and traditional baked vegetables.

The festive fare continues with Christmas plum pudding, fruit mince pies, pavlova toped with tropical fruit and a cheese platter.

For those wanting to soak up the sun and casual atmosphere of island living – The beachside Sand Bar offers a carvery menu featuring traditional favourites with fresh garden salads, roast vegetables, Christmas pud and traditional trifle. And all with stunning summer views of the Great Sandy Strait and refreshing pools.

Christmas Day lunch sittings start from 11.30am. Christmas prices start from $90 per person (or $45 for children 8-14 years) and include marine transfers. Ferries will depart from Urangan Boat Harbour to the resort at the special times of 0900, 1000, 1100 and 1145; returning 1500, 1530, 1630 and 1700 (approximately 45 minutes).

Bookings are essential on 1800 072 555.
