Jade Mountain, St. Lucia will hold its annual chocolate festival, Dec. 4 to 6. Cacao has a history in St, Lucia that dates back to the 1700s.
Cacao trees, over 1,000 strong, are established in both Anse Mamin Plantation and in Emerald Estate. St. Lucia has been harvesting and producing cacao beans for generations.
The event starts on Dec. 4 with a “Chocolat-tini” party. Jade Mountain’s well-known Consulting Chef Allen Susser will share his talents and passion for chocolate. Saturday, Dec. 5 features a walking tour through the cocoa plantation and organic gardens.
Dinner that evening is all chocolate, with a specially prepared five-course dinner offering a seasonal and sustainable menu using chocolate in each course. Sunday, Dec. 6 starts with a very luxurious “Chocolate” Breakfast in Bed. To partake in the Chocolate Festival, add $250 per person to any reservation package at Jade Mountain. Accommodation in a sky Jacuzzi suite begins at $850 nightly and a fifth night free promotion is available.
Rates are subject to 10 percent service charge and 8 percent government tax.
