With less than a year to go until its maiden voyage, Cunard’s newest ship is getting its legendary name Queen Elizabeth.
The letters have been welded onto the bow at the Fincantieri yard in Trieste, Italy.
Limited space is still available on voyages for Queen Elizabeth’s maiden 2010 season, comprised of six voyages calling on 32 ports in 18 countries.
The maiden voyage, now sold out, will depart from Cunard’s homeport of Southampton, U.K., on Oct. 12, en route to the Atlantic Isles.
During a recent call to Venice aboard Queen Victoria, Entertainment Director Alastair Greener visited the Trieste shipyard and posted photos on Cunard’s blog at www.wearecunard.com
