Wildschönau for Austrian skiing

70 km of unrivalled corduroy, 26 modern lifts and season long snow thanks to the vast range of snow making facilities – Wildschönau deep in the Kitzbüheler Alps is the ideal spot to learn to ski or brush up those techniques.

City Ski

The delightfully unspoilt Wildschönau region seems a million miles away from the hustle and bustle of city life. Not so much how skiing used to be, but how it should be – where modern technology and tradition go hand in hand – traditional Tirolean villages effortlessly blended with modern infrastructure and state of the art snow making facilities.

What’s more, city living really is moments away, with Innsbruck 45 minutes from the doorstep and from Salzburg and Munich just an accessible 90 minutes by road.

Small is beautiful

Last season, Wildschönau was awarded ‘Small but Unrivalled’ category in an anonymous ski resort test carried out across the Alps by the ADAC (German Automobile Association).

Easy as one, two, three!

The Wildschönau Valley offers a special package for beginners, including lessons, ski hire and lift pass from just € 207 for two whole days of winter fun, with one day’s ski school for rusty legs from € 49.50.

Wildschönau is popular with freestyle skiers and ski tourers too. The Wildschönau Ski Pass or the Kitzbühel Alps Pass is available at all lift stations and there is also an abundance of winter trails for snow shoeing, tobogganing and sleigh rides. There’s even a winter high rope course to tackle!
