The £72 million ($117 million) Museum of Liverpool is the largest newly built national museum in Britain for over a century and the world’s first national museum devoted to the history of a regional city.
Opening in 2010-11 and occupying a UNESCO World Heritage waterfront site, it will be a free, family visitor attraction and a learning and community resource dedicated to telling the story of Liverpool’s development from pre-history to the present day.
