Red Sea Music Festival Set for January

The ninth Red Sea International Music Festival will showcase world-renowned composers and more than 250 musicians from Russia and Israel in the southern resort town of Eilat, Jan. 14 to 16, 2010.
The festival will open with a performance of Verdi’s La Traviata performed by St. Petersburg’s Mariinsky Opera and led by Israeli conductor Dan Ettinger. Valery Gergiev will conduct three concerts, including Stravinsky’s Les Noces (Jan. 15), and two performances of Berlioz’s Les Troyens (Jan. 16) at the pavilion in the Eilat Port.
The concerts will take place in a specially built pavilion in the Eilat Port, and at the theater in the Isrotel Royal Garden Hotel.
