Adventures by Disney and Disney Cruise Line (DCL) announced a special add-on option for a series of Mediterranean cruises in 2010 that will combine the best of both Disney vacations to create a Disney vacation experience at sea and on shore.
Clients participating in this new vacation offering can enjoy onboard activities and unique shore experiences that immerse each member of the family in the cultures and sights of this European region.
Travel agents can book clients on this limited-time offering for 10- and 11-night Disney Cruise Line Mediterranean vacations on the following departure dates in 2010:
May 5, 15, 26; Aug. 7, 18, 28 and Sept. 8.
“This new product brings the best of both Adventures by Disney and Disney Cruise Line to families interested in the ultimate Mediterranean experience,” said Karl Holz, president of Disney Cruise Line & New Vacation Operations.
“Visiting some of Europe’s most captivating destinations, the trip is designed to ensure that the client’s only agenda is to soak up the culture, relax and have fun in the Mediterranean.”
This first-time add-on package combines Adventures by Disney’s Adventure Guides and itineraries with the Disney Cruise Line experience at sea.
The Adventure Guides oversee every aspect of the itinerary, serving as VIP hosts and expert tour guides for each traveler throughout the vacation. While at sea, clients may participate in many special shipboard activities and programs available only as part of the Adventures by Disney/Disney Cruise Line vacation package.
As part of the Mediterranean trip, families are entitled to scheduled shore experiences and meals, a night of fine dining for adults, wine tasting at Palo aboard the Disney Magic, private receptions, and onboard and onshore photos.
While in ports of call, clients visit Barcelona, Naples, Tunisia, Malta, Corsica and the French Riviera. Another Adventures by Disney point of difference is that itineraries are developed with the family in mind and feature an array of activities that immerse each member in the culture and history of every city, including special activities for children.
Adventures by Disney also offers unique experiences for clients on the combined vacation. For example, families can take a powerboat ride to the Island of Gozo, with its striking scenery and serene beaches, followed by an off-road tour to uncover the island’s hidden charms.
Other special touches include a behind-the-scenes tour of a Florence gelateria and expedited entrance into the Vatican.
Adventures by Disney vacations include accommodations at some of the best hotels and resorts each destination offers, transportation once clients have reached their destination, baggage handling, all scheduled meals, group activities, and gratuities for bellmen, housekeepers, drivers and dining staff.
