Renoir in the 20th Century
Los Angeles County Museum of Art
Feb. 14-May 9
The study offers an unprecedented look at the last three decades of Renoir’s career, when he abandoned impressionism and turned to art that was decorative and classical. His paintings from this period have never before been studied, and the exhibit serves to bridge the divide between art of the 19th and 20th centuries.
