New Mozambique Airport

Access 500 airport loungesConstruction has begun on a new international airport at Vilanculos, Mozambique. The Vilanculos airport is the gateway to the Bazaruto Archipelago where Rani Resorts’ Indigo Bay Island Resort and Spa is located. The new terminal will allow visitors a convenient way to reach Bazaruto. The plans for Vilanculos airport include spacious departure lounges for international and domestic flights as well as a new VIP lounge.

Other additions consist of an updated air traffic control system along with the introduction of a separate area for cargo handling. According to Manuel Chaves, director of management, traffic and airports, the airport’s capacity will increase from 75,000 to around 200,000 passengers annually. The project is anticipated to take nine months to complete.
