Spa Days – Get Ready for Summer
The capital of the Highlands has welcomed a new star to the accommodation scene. Officially opened on Friday 4th June, The Kingsclub and Spa is set within the manicured lawns of the highly regarded Kingsmills Hotel, just minutes from the centre of Inverness.

The team behind The Kingsclub and Spa is the same highly respected team that has established the Kingsmills Hotel, a four star hotel with an enviable reputation for its friendliness, service and quality.

Located in the carefully kept and lush grounds of the much loved and acclaimed Kingsmills Hotel, the addition of The Kingsclub and Spa now creates The Collection by Kingsmills.

The Kingsclub and Spa has carried out extensive research regarding what visitors really need and want from a Spa hotel. Designed to provide a chic and contemporary hotel choice for discerning travellers to Inverness, this latest addition to the Highland accommodation scene focuses on relaxation, revitalization and calm.

The addition of a day spa within the hotel is unique to Inverness. Unlike any other hotel in the Highland capital, the spa offers massage suites, a unique double treatment room perfect for sharing your spa experience with a close friend or loved one, a relaxation area and a nail salon.

The team of highly experienced staff, who have previously worked within some of the best spas in Scotland including Skibo Castle and Gleneagles Hotel, offer some of the most luxurious treatments available. The treatments, which range from deep tissue and sports massages to specialist treatments such as reflexology, aromatherapy or hot stone massage, combine advanced dermatological innovation with completely natural ingredients.

Play More - Pay Less
In addition to the spa, the newest hotel to hit the Highlands boasts contemporary bedrooms which reflect the style that is integral to every design element at the hotel.

Air conditioning is standard across all bedrooms and many rooms come with individual balconies or private gardens.

Other hotel facilities include a mezzanine coffee lounge, golf course views, business centre and a wining and dining lounge.

In the club spirit, the hotel bar and restaurant are exclusive to guests of The Kingsclub and Spa. Impeccable service, mouth watering menus, fresh locally sourced ingredients and an atmosphere of informal intimacy reflect the Kingsclub & Spa philosophy.

Craig Ewan, General Manager of the Kingsmills Hotel and Kingsclub and Spa, comments, “The Kingsclub and Spa has a contemporary feel and will retain the same values of the Kingsmills Hotel. It will maintain the warm, welcoming and customer focussed values of the Kingsmills whilst simultaneously introducing the essentials of modern day comfort – making it the ideal place to unwind after a day exploring this beautiful and unique part of Scotland.”

The Kingsclub and Spa benefits from sharing facilities with the Kingsmills Hotel.

Shared facilities include the swimming pool, leisure club, restaurants and function rooms.

Enjoying a unique location on the leafy outskirts of Inverness and set within four acres of carefully kept gardens, The Kingsclub and Spa is proud of its ‘green space’.

Balconies and private gardens overlook the prestigious Inverness Golf Course and are the perfect place to indulge in a late summer sunset.

Light and space inform every architectural detail from the staircases to the huge glass windows with views over acres of greenery.

Not only is the hotel an enticing place to stay, but on the hotel’s doorstep is a wealth of things to see and do including championship golf, Loch Ness, the Cairngorms National Park as well as ancestry, culture, gardens, history, castles, quality attractions and endless outdoor activities, walking, cycling, water sports and fishing.

New Canal Bars along Vienna’s Danube Canal

July 1, 2010 on 5:34 am | In Italy, Night Clubs | Comments Off

Each spring, the open air bars along the Danube Canal swing into action. This year brings some new arrivals.

For many years Vienna’s Danube Canal has been one of the city’s most popular places to go out thanks to bars such as Summerstage (www.summerstage.at ), Strandbar Herrmann (www.strandbar-herrmann.at ) and Adria Wien (www.adriawien.at ).

The Danube Canal is central, and as cars are banned from its banks, visitors can enjoy the views of the water in peace and quiet.

While some of the clubs, bars, and restaurants are only open during the warmer months of the year (usually around May to late September), others never close such as the internationally famous Flex (www.flex.at ) , or Badeschiff Wien (www.badeschiff.at).

A new restaurant is set to open next to Schwedenplatz at the Wien City boat terminal, where pleasure cruisers and the high speed catamarans that shuttle between Vienna and Bratislava land.

Open year round, Motto am Fluss features a restaurant, bar with lounge and café complete with sun deck across two floors of the terminal, part of which protrudes over the water.

The food will be contemporary with its roots in traditional dishes, and the portions generous.

Tel Aviv Beach will reopen in summer on the opposite side of the canal a short distance upstream from the terminal.

This outdoor location will be bigger than ever in 2010 after a highly successful season last year.

The sandy beach with deckchairs will be complemented by a rooftop terrace and a greater choice of food and drink from Naschmarkt restaurateur Haya Molcho.
