Weeklong Event is a Precursor to America’s Cup and

Long Beach, Calif.-– The Long Beach Yacht Club, founded in 1929 by a group of local sailing enthusiasts and recognized as one of the West Coast’s leading sailing organizations, will hold its annual Congressional Cup match race March 22-26, 2011.

The event, a the precursor to the America’s Cup match race, attracts hundreds of sailors and spectators from around the world and features an array of public events.

Leading Spanish hotel and resort operator Sol Meliá is pleased to announce the arrival of ME London as the sixth “experience-based,” personality hotel to the ME Hotels brand. Formerly the site of the City Bank building, ME London will be designed as a cutting-edge, contemporary hotel by renowned British architect Sir Norman Foster, making the hotel an icon of the London hotel industry for both business and leisure travelers.

Issa Trust Foundation’s Sixth Medical Mission Provides Free Health Care for Thousands of Jamaican Children

Thousands of Jamaican children are in good health today thanks to Couples Resorts’ Issa Trust Foundation, which offered free health care to local youth and donated more than US$50,000 in medical supplies to hospitals and clinics during its annual medical mission.

Marking its sixth year of service, the Issa Trust Foundation, in partnership with the Ministry of Health and the North East Regional Health Authority, united 46 medical professionals from the University of Iowa’s Children’s Hospital and Philadelphia to provide two weeks’ worth of pediatric medical attention to youth in St. Mary, St. Ann and Kingston parishes.

The Issa Trust Foundation is a nonprofit organization founded by Couples Resorts in 2005 that aims to provide a system of prevention, health promotion and education, and community health improvement for the people of Jamaica.
