Caesars Entertainment “No Resort Fee” Policy

July 26, 2011 on 2:07 pm | In Gaming Resorts, Golf Resorts, Hotels, Las Vegas | Comments Off

Caesars Entertainment hosted a Las Vegas publicity stunt to promote its “No Resort Fee” policy.

None of the company’s Las Vegas properties charge a nightly resort fee, which hotels are increasingly charging to cover items that include fitness center access, wireless Internet access and bottled water.

During the stunt, nearly 50 showgirls from “Donn Arden’s Jubilee!” at Bally’s Las Vegas (www.ballys.com) shut down traffic on the Las Vegas Strip to rally against resorts that charge hidden resort fees to hotel guests.

In addition, headliners Marie Osmond, who performs with her brother Donny at The Flamingo (www.flamingolasvegas.com ); Penn & Teller, who perform at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino (www.riolasvegas.com ); and other entertainers, as well as more than 100 Caesars Entertainment employees and company executives, attended the rally in support of Caesars Entertainment’s city-wide “No Resort Fee” policy, which eliminates mandatory fees associated with hotel amenities at all of its Las Vegas properties.

Osmond launched the “No Resort Fees” savings clock on the Bally’s Las Vegas digital marquee with a public countdown exposing that Las Vegas travelers are saving up to $3 million per month and have saved $37 million to date by staying at Caesars Entertainment resorts.

The clock, which displays guest savings as of July 5, 2010, after the company’s acquisition of Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino (www.planethollywoodresort.com ), will reveal up-to-the-second figures achieved as a result of the Caesars Entertainment’s “No Resort Fees” policy.

The company also is hosting a “Take A Stand Against Resort Fees” contest.

The online contest encourages participants to view a consumer-generated video, and then produce and submit creative video content in protest of hidden resort fees for a chance to win one of three Las Vegas getaways.

To view the video, visit www.youtube.com/noresortfees#p/a/u/0/zEyo2S9Mano

. For rules and information about the contest, visit www.facebook.com/NoResortFees

The contest ends on Aug. 17.
