The Best RV Trip Planning Tool Ever

How to plan that next RV Trip in a fast and easy way.
ALACHUA, FL — The RV Trip Wizard is a visual planning tool designed to help Recreational Vehicle owners, and renters, overcome the often difficult task of how to plan long, multi-stop trips. The visual manner in which the system works makes trip planning fast, easy and fun.
Richard Hill, a partner in the company and long time RV’er said, “A few years ago my wife and I made a 7,200 mile trip around the USA. It took us about two and one half weeks to do all the planning. That long planning time was the motivation behind the development of the “Wiz”. That same trip can be planned in about 30 minutes using RV Trip Wizard”.
RV Trip planning can be a tedious task. There are numerous reference books, software packages, websites and applications that do help. But the RV’er often finds the information provided in a particular resource limited to those campgrounds affiliated with the publisher of the resource.
The “Wiz” overcomes that problem by presenting more than 39,000 campgrounds and other points of interest (POI’s) regardless of affiliation.
What makes the “Wiz” truly unique is that it accommodates the fact that most RV’ers are members of several organizations that offer various levels of discounts. The system allows the user to list and prioritize their memberships, which are then highlighted with special icons during the trip planning process.
A preference file is stored with information about the user’s RV size, mileage, and current average fuel cost. This enables the system to choose the best routes and to compute estimated trip costs.
Because RV Trip Wizard has been designed by RV’ers with years of trip planning experience the “Wiz” offers a revolution in RV Trip planning. Adapting technology licensed from Google, it makes the trip planning process easy, fast, and effective.
A typical user experience is as follows:
A starting point is chosen and an online map of the area is displayed with all the campgrounds in the area. The user simply drags the map to the area where they want to go and then clicks on an icon of interest. Information about the campground appears which shows the number and types of sites, hook-up information, recreational facilities, ratings, prices, and much more.
If that campground is not of interest, the user just clicks on another icon to see its information. When the desired campground is located it is added to the trip. For each leg of the trip, miles driven and estimated costs are displayed.
The process is repeated until the user wants to save the trip, which may be recalled at any time. Modifications are equally simple to make and a printed outline is available at any time.
An unlimited number of trips can be created, saved and recalled whenever desired.
RV Trip Wizard TM includes the ability to down load a trip to a GPS. It also allows planning bicycle or walking side trips, and additionally, the website provides many other features, including, links to useful resources, a forum, and much, much, more.
The system is accessible from all PC’s, MAC’s, tablet computers and smart phones.
There is no software to buy, maintain, or update. Subscription includes a 15 day free trial and is available at
Subscribers can participate in an affiliate program that offers rewards for referring others who become subscribers.
RV Trip Wizard, designed by RV’ers for RV’ers, is a Florida based partnership devoted entirely to making trip planning easier and more effective for RV enthusiasts.

Either way, hunters win when they enter the Super Hunt drawings; they get a chance at winning the hunt of a lifetime, and their entry fee helps support hunter and angler access to and across private lands.
Super Hunt is a fund-raising drawing for 40 big game tags. The tags are handed out to winners in two drawings. Entries are drawn for elk, deer, pronghorn and moose tags. Winners can participate in any open hunt in the state for deer, elk, pronghorn or moose. That includes general hunts and controlled hunts.
Entries in this year’s first Super Hunt and Super Hunt Combo drawing must be received at the Fish and Game headquarters by May 31 with the drawing set for June 15.
Even hunters who don’t draw a tag win – the proceeds from the drawing go to Fish and Game’s Access Yes! program, which compensates willing landowners for providing access to or across private lands to hunters and anglers.
The first drawing in June will be for eight elk, eight deer, and eight antelope hunts as well as one moose hunt; one “Super Hunt Combo” entry also will be drawn that will entitle the winner to hunt for one each elk, deer, antelope, and moose.
A second drawing will be in mid-August when another “Super Hunt Combo” and entries for two elk, two deer, and two antelope hunts along with one moose hunt will be drawn. The entry period for the second drawing is June 2 through August 11.
Hunters can take an animal or animals on their Super Hunt or Super Hunt Combo tags in addition to any general season or controlled hunt tags they also hold.
All other rules of individual hunts apply.
The special drawings began in 2004 as a way to raise money for the Access Yes! program, which helps assure hunter and angler access to and across private lands by compensating willing landowners.
The first entry for a species costs $6; additional entries for the same species cost $4 each when purchased at the same time. Super Hunt Combo entries cost $20 for one; additional entries are $16 when purchased at the same time.

TSA Helpline for Travelers with Disabilities, Medical Conditions
December 26, 2011 on 6:20 pm | In Airlines | Comments OffThe Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has introduced the launch of TSA Cares, a new helpline number designed to assist travelers with disabilities and medical conditions, prior to getting to the airport. Travelers may call TSA Cares toll free at 855-787-2227 prior to traveling with questions about screening policies, procedures and what to expect at the security checkpoint.
“TSA Cares provides passengers with disabilities and medical needs another resource to use before they fly, so they know what to expect when going through the screening process,” said TSA Administrator John Pistole. “This additional level of personal communication helps ensure that even those who do not travel often are aware of our screening policies before they arrive at the airport.”
Since its inception, TSA has provided information to all travelers through its TSA Contact Center and Customer Service Managers in airports nationwide. TSA Cares will serve as an additional, dedicated resource for passengers with disabilities, medical conditions or other circumstances or their loved ones who want to prepare for the screening process prior to flying.

Emirates to Increase Paris Flights
December 25, 2011 on 3:37 pm | In Airlines, Dubai, Middle East, Paris | Comments OffDUBAI, UAE – - Emirates, one of the fastest growing airlines in the world, will add an additional five weekly flights to Paris by the end of 2012. The increase in flights is in direct response to strong passenger demand on the route.
Effective 25th March, the current double-daily Charles de Gaulle service will be supplemented by an additional four frequencies, increasing to five extra weekly flights in the winter 2012 schedule.
The four extra flights from March will operate on a Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. The new EK 071 will depart Dubai at 0355hrs and arrive in the French capital at 0905hrs. The return flight, EK072, leaves Paris at 1110hrs to land in Dubai at 1940hrs. Effective 30 October 2012, EK071 and EK 072 will also operate on a Tuesday.
The additional five frequencies, taking the total number of Emirates’ weekly flights to Paris to 19, will be operated with a 777-300ER. The aircraft offers eight First Class Private Suites, 42 lie-flat beds in Business Class and a spacious cabin in Economy Class with 310 seats.
Throughout all cabin classes, passengers can enjoy the latest version of the airline’s multi award-winning ice entertainment system, which brings over 1,200 channels of movies, TV shows and music, including French language content.
Paris is one of the Emirates’ routes served by the popular and partly French-built A380. The airline’s A380 orders will generate over 16,000 direct and indirect jobs in France. “Demand to and from France, particularly from business travellers, is such that a third frequency has always been an objective for Emirates, said Salem Obaidalla, Senior Vice President, Commercial Operations, Europe & Russian Federation, Emirates.
“With these additional services, we will help to satisfy that demand, while providing more opportunities for travel between Paris, Dubai and beyond to our network of more than 100 destinations across the Middle East, Africa, Asia and Australasia,” added Mr Obaidalla.
France became part of the Emirates’ route network in 1992 and now two gateways are served; Paris and Nice. As passenger and belly-hold cargo services have increased, so has the contribution to the multi-billion dollar trade relationship between France and the UAE.
French investment in the UAE has traditionally focused on oil and gas, however the free trade zones have attracted companies such as L’Oreal, Chanel and Schneider. Food, automotive parts, furniture and interior design products also contribute to the trade relationship.
France and the UAE – Economic snapshot

• 5,700 French exporters, 60% of which are SMEs
• 250 subsidiaries of French companies present in the UAE

Emirates Launches A380 Service to Munich
December 25, 2011 on 3:34 pm | In Abu Dhabi, Airlines, Dubai, Germany, Middle East | Comments OffOver 7 million passengers now carried on the Emirates A380
DUBAI, UAE – Emirates’ A380 route network extended to Germany on 25 November with the launch of services to Munich. At the same time, Emirates became the first foreign carrier to offer a scheduled A380 service to Germany, a key country involved with its production, and supporting 40,000 jobs in Germany alone.
The double decker will operate as EK 049, one of two daily flights from Dubai to Munich and among the airline’s 60 flights a week to four gateways in Germany; Munich, Dusseldorf, Hamburg and Frankfurt.
“After gradually building up services to Germany since 1987, Emirates is responding to strong demand by bringing its flagship aircraft to one of its most important markets, adding much-needed seat capacity and stimulating further tourism and trade between Germany, the UAE and beyond,” said Thierry Antinori, Emirates’ Executive Vice President, Passenger Sales Worldwide.
Joining Mr Antinori on the inaugural A380 service from Dubai was Salem Obaidalla, Emirates’ Senior Vice President, Commercial Operations, Europe & Russian Federation, along with other VIP guests and representatives from the media.
Over one thousand spectators were expected to gather for the landing in Munich, where the giant 489-seat aircraft – under the command of German Captain Fritz Wildt – was set to receive a water cannon salute.
Volker Greiner, Emirates’ Vice President, North and Central Europe, will host an arrival reception at Munich Airport with guests including Markus Soeder, Bavarian State Minister of Finance, the Lord Mayor of Munich, Christian Ude and Michael Kerkloh, CEO of Munich Airport.
“Emirates’ decision to operate its flagship Airbus A380 on one of its two daily flights from Munich to Dubai represents yet another acknowledgement for the airport. The fact that this airline, which is successful on all continents, is relying on Munich for part of its expansion plans, is clear evidence of the excellent future prospects for this Bavarian air traffic hub,” said Dr. Kerkloh.
“For our passengers on the high-demand connection to Dubai, the operation of the Emirates’ A380 involves yet another clear quality improvement – after all, Emirates has attracted worldwide attention with the exclusive equipment of its A380,” Dr. Kerkloh added.
Emirates is the largest A380 operator in the world and has now carried more than 7 million passengers since the popular superjumbo was introduced to its fleet in August 2008. The airline’s A380 operations are supported by more than 2,500 dedicated cabin crew and 362 pilots. The carrier’s 17 A380s now serve Munich, London Heathrow, Manchester, New York, Paris, Sydney, Auckland, Toronto, Bangkok, Seoul, Jeddah, Johannesburg, Hong Kong, Beijing and Shanghai. Rome will be the next A380 point from 1st December followed by Kuala Lumpur effective 1st January 2012.
Each Emirates’ A380 offers an Onboard Lounge on the upper deck for Premium Class passengers to meet and exchange stories and do business. First Class passengers have the added luxury of two Onboard Shower Spas. On the Dubai-Munich route, the aircraft is arranged in a three-class configuration with 399 seats in Economy Class, 76 fully flat-bed, mini-pods in Business Class and 14 First Class Private Suites. Passengers across all cabins can lose themselves in the more than 1,000 channels of ice, the award-winning in-flight entertainment system.
Germany plays a significant role in the production of Emirates’ highly efficient double-deckers. Specialist companies across the country contribute to the aircraft’s engines, wings, entertainment system, lighting and Onboard Shower features. Final finishing work is conducted in Hamburg before the superjumbos are formally handed over. The A380 production line is part of a multi-billion Euro trade relationship between the UAE and Germany, assisted by Emirates’ SkyCargo, which operates 11 weekly freighter flights to Germany. The new Dubai to Munich A380 service, EK 049, departs Dubai daily at 0910hrs and arrives at Franz Josef Strauss Airport at 1245hrs. The return flight, EK 050, leaves Munich at 1425hrs and lands in Dubai at 2315hrs. Emirates has a fleet of 162 aircraft flying to 116 destinations and has a further 243 planes on order worth over 84 billion US dollars. This includes the additional 50 Boeing 777s ordered during the recent Dubai Air Show.
Emirates Gets the Ball Rolling for Rio de Janeiro Launch
December 25, 2011 on 3:32 pm | In Abu Dhabi, Airlines, Brazil, Dubai, Middle East, South America | Comments OffRIO DE JANEIRO- Emirates kicked off its Rio de Janeiro countdown in style on the 24th November, as the airline got ready to launch daily services to the 2014 FIFA World Cup host city from 3rd January 2012.
The new direct service to Rio de Janeiro, with an onward extension to Buenos Aires, will provide seamless connections to Emirates’ network of more than 100 destinations worldwide.
Last night, over 800 guests from the government, travel industry and wider business community attended a gala celebration at Pier Maua to find out more about one of the world’s most successful and fastest-growing airlines. Guests were also given the opportunity to see the FIFA World Cup Trophy, which was on display at the event.
“As Emirates’ second Brazilian gateway, our new Rio de Janeiro service will add extra impetus to the vibrant Brazilian economy, boosting tourism and underpinning the city’s status as a leading hub for business and trade, particularly within the oil and gas industries,” said Thierry Antinori, Executive Vice President -Passenger Sales Worldwide.
“Emirates anticipates strong demand for both leisure and business travel to Rio de Janeiro, especially as Brazil will host a series of world-class events over the next few years, including the 2013 Confederations Cup, the 2014 FIFA World Cup and the 2016 Olympic Games, added Mr Antinori. “As a Partner of the 2014 World Cup, Emirates is proud that we have a role to play in making the tournament a success, and we look forward to bringing football fans from across our global network to this unmissable event.”
“This new Emirates flight is a big win for Rio de Janeiro as it will feed global traffic into the city, boosting tourism and creating new opportunities for trade between this market and numerous emerging economies,” said Mr. Rodrigo Solano, Manager of Markets and Business, Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce.
Earlier in the day, the Brazilian media met with Emirates representatives including Richard Vaughan, Divisional Senior Vice President of Commercial Operations Worldwide, Nigel Page, Senior Vice President, Commercial Operations, The Americas, and Ralf Aasmann, Area Manager Brazil. Rio de Janeiro, also known as the ‘Marvellous City,’ is renowned for its spectacular natural setting. The city, which is home to Sugar Loaf Mountain, Copacabana and Ipanema beaches as well as the famous Maracana Football Stadium, receives more visitors than any other city in South America, welcoming an estimated 2.8 million international tourists each year.
Emirates’ Rio de Janeiro flight will be a linked service with Buenos Aires, meaning that customers in South America can now travel between the two cities in unprecedented style and comfort. The new service will be operated by a Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, arranged in a three-class configuration, offering eight First Class Private Suites, 42 lie-flat beds in Business Class, and a spacious cabin in Economy Class with 304 seats.
Throughout all classes, passengers can enjoy the latest version of Emirates’ multi award-winning ice entertainment system, which offers over 1,200 channels of movies, TV shows and music, including Portuguese language versions and Brazilian and Latin American music.
Starting 3rd January 2012, EK 247 will leave Dubai daily at 0705hrs and arrive at Rio’s Antônio Carlos Jobim International Airport at 1537hrs. It will depart Rio at 1723hrs, arriving at Buenos Aires Ministro Pistarini International Airport (Ezeiza) at 1930hrs. From Buenos Aires, EK 248 departs at 2130hrs, arriving in Rio at 0120hrs the next day. The aircraft will depart Rio at 0310hours, arriving in Dubai at 2250hrs.
One of the world’s fastest-growing airlines, Emirates has a fleet of 162 aircraft and is now the world’s largest Airbus A380 and Boeing 777 operator.
With an order for 50 new Boeing 777-300ER aircraft placed at the Dubai Airshow earlier this month, Emirates now has 243 aircraft on order, worth over US$84 billion at list prices.
Rio de Janeiro and Buenos Aires will be the second and third points to be added to Emirates’ South American network. Emirates has been flying to Brazil since 2007, when it launched its Sao Paulo route. The airline now operates daily services to the city.
