To mark the opening of the Food and Wine Academy, Hotel ICON hosted a three-hour Cooking Workshop on October 28 featuring Michelin-honoured Chef Henrik Norström. In 2001, Chef Norström earned a Silver place at the Bocuse d’Or, the prestigious cooking competition attracting chefs from around the world. During the exclusive workshop, the celebrated Chef showcased his culinary skills and shared his experiences with students and SHTM alumni.
As part of the launch activities, Chef Norström also presented a Swedish Gala Dinner for invited guests on the 28th October.

Galaxy Double R Racing Team car for Macau Grand Prix

Former Guia circuit lap record holder Marko Asmer appeared outside the main entrance of the resort next to one of the team’s distinctive black and gold race cars, which many will be watching closely when the Formula 3 race – known for showcasing tomorrow’s Formula 1 stars today – gets underway on Saturday, 19th November 2011. The Galaxy Double R Racing team also features current GP3 Series World Champion Valtteri Bottas.
On 6th October 2011 Galaxy Macau announced its sponsorship of the Double R Racing team, extending Galaxy Entertainment Group’s (GEG, SEHK stock code: 00027) commitment to marquee sporting events. This is not the first time GEG has partnered with Double R Racing, which entered current Lotus Renault F1 driver Bruno Senna in the 2007 Macau Grand Prix under GEG’s colors.
To commemorate the partnership at today’s media event, Double R Racing’s Team Principal Anthony Hieatt presented Mr. Raymond Yap, Senior Vice President of International Premium Market Development of Galaxy Entertainment Group, with a souvenir. Guests will now be able to enjoy lunch and dinner buffets at Café 103, in addition to the signature Chocolate Afternoon Tea that has fast become an institution in the city.
The buffet at Café 103 features a wide selection of cold cuts and antipasti including sashimi bowl, organic salad bar, and seafood like Alaskan crab legs and mussels. To follow, the buffet offers delicious choices of Asian and Western hot dishes and a carving station that serves roasted kurobuta pork, prime rib or beef sirloin. 「秋風起,三蛇肥」,秋冬的來臨,正是吃蛇補身的最佳季節。香港朗廷酒店中菜部行政總廚蕭顯志師傅,悉心設計十二月份精選菜譜,包括四款以蛇入饌的菜式、及九款滋補驅寒的菜餚。此菜譜由12月1日至31日於唐閣供應。
蕭師傅表示:「中國人一向不時不吃,蛇是秋冬保健食療的重要食材。中醫相信蛇肉具補益之效,可袪風活血、補中益氣。為了讓客人品嚐當造肥美的蛇讌,唐閣在十二月份特別推出四款以蛇入膳的尊貴蛇菜,包括竹絲雞燴五蛇、五蛇烏雞燴生翅、金瑤杞子炒蛇片、彩虹遼參炒蛇絲。」
