In March 1995, representatives from the public sector, private corporations and various ethnic associations in Japan and Hawaii joined to create the very first Honolulu Festival.
Since then, the Honolulu Festival has grown into a premier cultural event, featuring ethnic performances, events and exhibits at various venues throughout Honolulu.
The three-day Festival culminates on the final day with an amazing parade through Waikiki, featuring floats, Mikoshi (Japanese portable festival shrines) and thousands of performers from Hawaii and throughout the Pacific Rim.
Come join in the festivities and experience the wonder on March 3rd and 4th at various venues in Honolulu. You can enjoy performances from all over the world, play and win prizes at the Ennichi, experience new cultures at the many workshops being offered, and sing and dance with Anime fans at our main venue, the Hawaii Convention Center (HCC). HCC is within walking distance from Waikiki.
The Honolulu Festival concludes with a Grand Parade through the main streets of Waikiki on the afternoon of Sunday, March 4th.
