Iceland Airwaves Festival Packages starting at $641 per person

Festival Dates: October 31 – November 4, 2012

Every Autumn, Reykjavik rocks a little louder! Hear the hottest bands from Iceland, Europe, the Americas and beyond in the coolest setting on Earth. The intimate venues are all in the downtown area, so you can hop from one performance to the next. Please note that passengers under 20 years old cannot attend the festival events.

Sigur Rós to headline!!! It is with great pleasure that we announce the return of Sigur Rós to Iceland Airwaves! It’s been 11 years since Sigur Rós last performed at Iceland Airwaves, after coming to international prominence with their second record ‘Ágætis Byrjun’. In their first hometown show for four years, the band will close the Airwaves festival with a performance at the new Laugardalshöll Arena on Sunday November 4th. The show will see the band pulling material from their entire catalogue, including the forthcoming sixth studio album, ‘Valtari’.

Tickets for the Sigur Rós special performance at Iceland Airwaves go on sale Wednesday May 16th in the package booking engine (just add the tickets to your booking). Those who have already booked a package can retrieve their booking and add the tickets here. They will be available at the special low price of $29 to anyone holding an Iceland Airwaves package until July 16th. After that the tickets will be available for $49.

Airwaves Passengers who are scheduled to return on Nov 4 can change their booking to the next available departure date. They will need to pay any fare difference and make their own arrangements for extending their hotel stay. Please contact us@icelandairholidays.com  to request a flight date change.

Sigur Ros Concert information: Doors open at 6pm, Concert starts at 7pm with opening acts, followed by Sigur Ros. Booked tickets can be picked up at Airwaves Central-Hotel Plaza Oct 29 – Nov 3.
