Airlink Adds Flights Between Johannesburg, Northern Mozambique
July 18, 2012 on 12:18 pm | In Africa, Airlines, Mozambique, South Africa | Comments OffAirlink will increase the frequency of its daily service between Johannesburg and Pemba, Northern Mozambique, beginning Aug. 27, with the addition of Monday and Friday flights to its weekly schedule.
Flights will depart Johannesburg at 11:10 a.m. and arrive in Pemba at 2 p.m., and will depart Pemba at 2:30 p.m. and arrive in Johannesburg at 5:25 p.m. The new flights will augment Airlink’s current schedule of Wednesday and Saturday flights. The route will use one of Airlink’s 11 Embraer ERJ135 37-seat regional jets.
Pemba has been seeing increased interest following discoveries of offshore gas in the Mozambican channel to the north of the city. A number of new hotel properties have opened in the region to serve both the growing leisure and the petroleum industries. Airlink works closely with SAA to provide seamless service for passengers visiting Pemba. Airlink flights earn passengers SAA’s Voyager Miles.
