With a Single Photo, Win a 12- Day Kenyan Safari from Bush and Beyond
NAIROBI, Kenya- Bush and Beyond, a leader in the East African safari industry, is holding a photo contest to give away an all-inclusive 12-day Kenyan safari for two. To enter, participants must submit an original photo capturing the beauty of Kenya in one of three categories: Wildlife, Landscapes, or People and Culture.
Participating photos can be submitted on Bush and Beyond’s Facebook page from July 16- September 30, 2012. Public voting will determine the top 10 finalists who will move on to the second round, where three special judges will select the winning photo. Voting will be open on Facebook until October 30, 2012. Before officially moving to the second stage, finalists will be contacted by Bush and Beyond staff for verification.
The Grand Prize Winner will receive a 12-day Kenyan safari for two to Bush and Beyond properties such as Mara Plains Camp, The Sanctuary at Ol Lentille, and Lewa House. The Second Place prize is a Canon camera. The Third Place winner will receive a pair of Canon binoculars. Winners will be announced January 14, 2013.
Bush and Beyond has lined up three internationally-renowned professionals in the wildlife tracking, photography, and hospitality fields to judge the final photos: Jackson Looseyia, Angela Scott, and David Stogdale.
Jackson Looseyia was born in the heart of the Masai Mara and grew up surrounded by wildlife. Jackson comes from a long line of master hunters and trackers. He has an intimate knowledge of the wildlife in the Mara from the smallest insect to the largest predators. Jackson is the co-owner of Nomadic Encounters, host of BBC Big Cat Diary, and one of the top guides in Africa.
Angela Scott was born in Alexandria, Egypt and spent her childhood in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. Working together with her husband Jonathan, Angela travels the world as a wildlife photographer, artist, and host. Angie takes the production stills for BBC’s Big Cat Week as well as being one of the game spotters. In 2000 Angela co-authored a trilogy of books on big cats to accompany the television series.
David Stogdale has a long and distinguished career in Kenya’s hospitality industry. He is the hospitality grandmaster and has worked with some of the most famous East African properties including the Norfolk Hotel and Kichwa Tembo. David was appointed to the Board of Directors of the Kenya Tourist Board in 2012.
