In May 2012, Five Star Tours & Charter Bus Company added a new range of unique city tours and theme park tours.
The new tours offer interactive learning experiences while visiting various areas around San Diego; they include a downtown City Tour, Beach and Surf Tour, San Diego Zoo Tour, San Diego Zoo’s Safari Park Tour and LEGOLAND California Tour.
For an overview of San Diego, the Heart of SoCal Tour is a half-day excursion discovering the historic sights of Old Town, Balboa Park, downtown, Little Italy, East Village and the Embarcadero.
The tour also offers photo stops at Petco Park, home of the San Diego Padres, Balboa Park’s Botanical Building and more; included is a visit to La Jolla and a panoramic view of San Diego at Mt. Soledad.
Options available include visits to the USS Midway Museum, a San Diego Harbor cruise or shopping at Seaport Village.
The tours are offered to all ages and include a San Diego-themed gift.

So Diego Tours’ newest offering is The Gaslamp Quarter Wine Stroll, a three-hour food and beverage tasting tour of the historic Gaslamp Quarter in downtown, including three of the following four venues: Bon Vin, Bacchus, Vin De Syrah and The Grape.
The tour offers three different wine tastings at each venue paired with a snack to complement the wine. Guests also receive an insider history of both San Diego’s bawdy past and California’s extensive wine history, as well as discounts on the retail prices of any of the wines tasted on the tour.

In February 2012, Where You Want to Be Tours began offering Discover Coronado Bike Tours.
The tour touts no steep hills and a comfortable pace while exploring Coronado the California way – on a beach cruiser. The tour incorporates Coronado’s hidden areas while travelling “off-the-beaten path,” with stops at the historic Hotel del Coronado and the former home of L. Frank Baum, who wrote The Wizard of Oz.
The tour is available to the public at 10:30 a.m. on Sundays and privately for groups of 5 guests or more. The cost is $45 per person for a 2.5-hour ride with an option to add a ride on the Downtown/Coronado Ferry for an additional $10, which also includes an hour more of touring.
