Crystal to Host Culinary Experts From Australia, New Zealand, Bali

Crystal Cruises’ 2013 Wine & Food-themed series will kick off with Australasian and Balinese star chefs and wine experts on two new 12-day Crystal Symphony itineraries — Australia/New Zealand departing Jan. 17 and Australia/Bali leaving Feb. 11.

Presenters include Damien Pignolet, executive chef at Bistro Moncur restaurant in Sydney; Heinz von Holzen, a Balinese cookbook author and owner of the island’s cooking school; Greg Doyle, owner of Pier seafood restaurant in Sydney; and Cameron Douglas, New Zealand’s first and only master sommelier.

The January “Koalas and Kiwis” itinerary explores Brisbane, Newcastle and Sydney (overnight), Australia, before sailing through Milford, Doubtful and Dusky Sounds en route to Dunedin, Christchurch/Lyttelton, Wellington and Auckland, New Zealand. The February “Reefs and Rainforest” voyage overnights in Sydney before venturing north through the Great Barrier Reef, Brisbane, the Whitsunday Islands/Hamilton, Cairns, Darwin and Benoa/Bali.

All-inclusive starting prices are $3,520 and $3,890, respectively, per person, double occupancy, with up to $3,000 in “Book Now” savings off the two-for-one fare if booked by Aug. 31. Three additional Wine & Food-themed voyages are also scheduled for May, July, and November in other regions.
