Hilton Surfers Paradise Extends Gold Coast Ramadan Facilities

To be offered free of charge, three nights a week through August and September, the lounge service is just one of many initiatives to ensure a warm welcome to Australia’s fun capital.
Arabic speaking locals will man a tour information desk within an assigned wing of the Hilton hotel’s 15th floor executive lounge, where Iftar food and beverage offerings plus shisha pipes will be available in a relaxed and inviting atmosphere.
“The Gold Coast continues to go from strength to strength in being able to accommodate all international visitors. The additional support of Tourism Queensland and Hilton Surfers Paradise has enabled us to maintain the evening lounge within one of the major entertainment precincts of the Gold Coast,” said Gold Coast Tourism International Director Gordon Price.
“Shopping malls, restaurants plus numerous other world-class accommodation options are all within easy reach of Surfers Paradise, while the beaches, theme parks and other exciting attractions are also in close proximity.
“Our unwavering appeal of golden sandy beaches along an uninterrupted 70 kilometre coastline, plus 100,000 hectares of World heritage-listed rainforest will ensure something for everyone during 2012.”
A Gold Coast Muslim Visitors Guide will also be available to potential guests on site, as well as pre-departure, with the collective objective of ensuring the Gold Coast maintains its reputation as a fun and accommodating International holiday destination.
“It’s all about formulating a long term strategy to ensure the Gold Coast maintains the fun factor for all guests, while catering to the specific cultural and religious needs of our visitors,” added Mr Price.
“Numerous Gold Coast operators already offer Halal certified product, theme parks provide designated prayer rooms and many hotels have the Koran and prayer mats readily available upon request.
“These initiatives are a further extension of the collective Gold Coast welcome to the Muslim community.”
