Latin America specialist tour operator Adventure Life is expanding its offerings to Colombia with a series of packages showcasing the Andes, the Amazon, Caribbean beaches, the Pacific Coast, colonial cities, archeological ruins, trekking, multisport adventures, wildlife, colorful festivals and the people of Colombia.
Prices start at $1,875.
The company’s six-day mountain biking tour travels from the high Andes to the lowland tropics (and not the reverse), passing through scenic river valleys and historic ruins via back roads.
It provides the opportunity to explore colonial towns, the Chicamocha Canyon, and to visit an organic coffee hacienda.
The “Andes to Caribbean Multisport Tour” gives clients the opportunity to hike, bike and raft in the Andes before descending to the Tayrona National Park.
The package provides a good view of Colombia’s history, culture and diverse landscape for active travelers.
The “Coffee Triangle and Medellin Multisport” tour explores nature reserves and several historic cities of the Central Andes.
The tour begins by sampling Colombia’s world-famous coffees in the Coffee Triangle and continues with hiking and biking through high altitude ecosystems and cloud forests, and concludes with a class III and IV rapids rafting trip on the Rio Buey.
It also includes city tours of colonial Santa Fe de Antioquia and Medellin.
Adventure Life was founded in 1999 and offers more than 100 adventures in South and Central America with an emphasis on local culture, ecology and life from remote villages, bustling city markets, jungles and mountains.
The company is headquartered in Missoula, Mont.
