During the festival, Sadhus and Hindu pilgrims gather to bathe in the holy waters of the Ganges at the point where it meets the Yamuna River to wash away their sins and achieve salvation, and to celebrate the gods and the triumph of good over evil.
The festival will begin Jan. 27, 2013.
“For the adventurous globetrotting client interested in a unique, intense and spiritual experience, this is the festival of a lifetime,” said Diane Molzan, Goway Asia general manager.
“Visitors will be amazed at the sheer magnitude of the crowd and the sensory overload.
This celebration is not for the faint-hearted.”
For any small groups interested in experiencing Maha Kumbh, Goway offers a special group festival package with limited allotted space. Clients visit Delhi, Varanasi Allahabad and Lucknow. Note that not only is space limited but it’s also only available until Dec. 20.
The price is $1,599 per person double occupancy. Goway also offers a three-day Varanasi package.
