HomeBeachbookerYOGAqua – New Fitness Trend Launching in Skiathos, 2013‏

Skiathos Princess Hotel and Aegean Suites Hotel are thrilled to be bringing YOGAqua to their properties in 2013.

Take traditional Yoga exercises, throw in a twist of Stand-Up Paddle-Boarding and mix with the early morning or late afternoon sun and the pristine, warm, clear and calm waters of Skiathos and you’re in for a treat.

YOGAqua is a natural extension of the timeless practice of Yoga fused with the exciting art of Stand-Up Paddle-Boarding and is a new fitness trend to come out of L.A. YOGAqua will be offered exclusively to guests staying at the Skiathos Princess Hotel and Aegean Suites Hotel in 2013 for groups of between 5-6 people at a rate of €20pp, per session (90mins).

The hotels are investing in brand new boards and classes YOGAqua will be available throughout the season from May – October 2013.

Guests of all abilities are able to participate and those taking part in YOGAqua will learn how to use a Stand-Up Paddle-Board and how to perform dozens of different Yoga poses while serenely floating on the natural splendour of Skiathos’ calm waters.

Poses have to be aligned just perfectly for even weight distribution on the boards, so participants will not only be benefiting from a challenging class, they will also be improving in-studio Yoga practices as well.

Mother's Day LinkAlready proven to be both popular and get results YOGAqua has become a hugely popular workout for many.

With the Yoga taking place on paddle boards on the water (a moving surface), guests will perform poses and engage muscles they wouldn’t normally use. Sarah Tiefenthaler, a trained Yoga instructor and founder of YOGAqua came up with the idea after being invited to try SUP boarding for the first time following an extensive yoga teacher training in Costa Rica.

It wasn’t long before Sarah began to experiment with yoga poses on the boards and she spent weeks trialling and testing different yoga poses and sequences, revising them again and again until she developed a sequence that really worked.

One that any level of yoga practitioner would enjoy and be challenged by at the same time…YOGAqua was born.

Sarah will be visiting Skiathos to personally train the hotels instructors allowing YOGAqua to be available to guests exclusively when the hotels open in May 2013.

Sarah guarantees that after only one class guests will leave feeling strong, refreshed, exhilarated, and inspired.
