‘Tween Concerts and Fashion Shows, a Radio Disney Meet and Greet, and More Cap Off Labor Day Line-Up During The 3rd Annual Magnificent Mile Shopping Festival™ presented by MasterCard®

CHICAGO – Chicago’s Magnificent Mile has ranked number one on Priceline’s annual list of top Labor Day destinations for the past two years, and the entertainment and activity line-up for this year’s Magnificent Mile Shopping Festival™ presented by MasterCard® promises a holiday weekend with something for everyone. From fall fashion highlights at a dedicated ‘Tween fashion show, to live outdoor concerts, culinary treats and special hotel packages, many of which have added benefits for MasterCard® cardholders, Michigan Avenue will once again be the choice destination for this holiday weekend.

A sampling of the highlights on the holiday weekend’s action-packed itinerary include:

August 27, 29 and September 1: Discover the world of Bitty Baby! Little girls and their parents can hear a reading of Bitty Baby & Me, the first title in the new picture book collection from American Girl. August 30 – September 1: Here’s a final chance to experiment at “The Artist Studio: Artful Accessories” with a variety of interesting papers, fabric scraps and assorted trims. Create wearable fashion accessories inspired by the exhibition “Impressionism, Fashion, and Modernity” (The Art Institute, 111 S. Michigan Avenue, 11:00 am – 1:00 pm)

August 31: Food meets fashion at Foodlife’s stylish affair. The dining destination tucked inside Water Tower Place will offer shoppers an indulgent brunch menu including a signature Bloody Mary, mimosas, applewood-smoked bacon, eggs, praline-crusted French toast, fresh fruit, pastries and more. While dining, visitors also can feed their fashion craving as live models showcase the season’s hottest looks from Water Tower Place retailers. Then enjoy Dressed to the Nines” at The Art Institute of Chicago. This special 6-9 p.m. evening viewing of Impressionism, Fashion, and Modernity, celebrates fashion trends of 19th-century Paris—and also happen to be hot this summer in 21st-century Chicago. The evening’s theme is Flowers in Your Hair and guests are encouraged to adorn locks with a bit of summer’s bloom, whether getting totally decked out or dressing in a more casual vibe. $25 non-members; $15 members. Punctuate a weekend full of memories with a magnificent firework display at Navy Pier on Saturday, Aug. 31 at 10:15 p.m. (600 E. Grand Avenue)

September 1: Fashion- and music-loving kids can head to the John Hancock Center Plaza for an outdoor “Tween Fashion Show” hosted by Water Tower Place. (875 N. Popular Disney Music Group recording artist Coco Jones performs a free outdoor concert at 12 noon at the John Hancock Observatory Plaza (875 N. Michigan Avenue) followed by an exclusive meet-and-greet with the star at the MasterCard Priceless Pavilion from 2 – 4 p.m. (401 N. Michigan Avenue).
