Miller Ferry to tentatively run first boat of the 2014 year on Monday, April 7, 2014 at 7:30 a.m.
Unusually cold weather & icy conditions make for late start.
Schedule is subject to change – early season is weather dependent.

Miller Ferry Catawba Dock – April 3, 2014 – Amidst one of the harshest winters the western basin of Lake Erie has seen in some 30 years, the Miller Boat Line has been waiting in the wings for their part of northern Ohio to thaw. Finally, they got their wish.

Miller Ferry will tentatively begin service to Put-in-Bay on Monday and Middle Bass Island on Tuesday despite being pushed back a little later into the Spring season that originally planned. Although service to the Lake Erie Islands resumes a bit later this season, the Miller Ferry and island business alike are poised for a very busy season.

“We’re all chomping at the bit to get this season started,” states Miller Ferry owner Julene Market. “A long winter like this may be tough for a few, but it really just makes the beginning of the island season that much more exciting.”

That same sentiment echoes throughout the Lake Erie Shores & Islands as well. While the weather this year may have been unpredictable, one thing is for certain – the Miller Ferry firing up is a great sign of Spring.
