With so many ski resorts to choose from, it can be hard to pick the one most suitable for your clients, so one company claims to have done the hard work for you by ranking 55 ski resorts.
The European Ski Index, which was produced by MyVoucherCodes, has positioned resorts according to the number of runs, the cost of the ski pass and the amount of snowfall last season.
It has named the Three Valleys in France as Europe’s top ski area, based on the fact that it has 600 kilometres of slopes and it benefited from 412 cms of snow last season, which was one of the highest.
The ski area is just slightly 20 kilometres larger than Les Portes du Soleil ski, which straddles France and Switzerland. It received 332 kms of snow last season, putting it in second place in the European Ski Index.
The Three Valleys includes resorts such as Courchevel, Meribel and Val Thorens, while in Les Portes du Soleil you’ve got great family-friendly resorts like Les Gets and Morzine, and also resorts with lots of self-catering accommodation, like Avoriaz.
The European Ski Index places France’s Val d’Isere in third place, with 170 kms of blue slopes, Austria’s Saalbach in fourth and La Plagne in France comes fifth.
