Uber is rolling out a multiple stops feature just in time for the holidays.
The San Francisco-based ride-hailing giant announced Thursday the new feature will allow users to add up to three different stops along their trip.
Previously, riders would have to change their destination mid-trip or meet at one place to get picked up.
An Uber spokeswoman told CNN that most users will have the new option available as soon as Thursday. However, it’s only available on the latest version of the app.
Customers can access the feature when choosing their final destination. After tapping “where to?” users can select the “+” icon to add their stops. The feature also lets riders add and remove stops in real time so the driver will automatically receive updated directions.
According to CNN, riders can still split the fare evenly but won’t be able to split the cost of each individual stop.
The new feature—which comes on the heels of several improvements designed to enhance the rider and driver experience, including a new tipping option—is not available for UberPOOL, which transports up to two riders traveling in the same direction so they can split the cost.
While Uber and its competitors like Lyft have provided travelers a convenient transportation option on the ground, a recent study found that ride-hailing services are actually hurting public transportation and leading to more traffic in cities.
Uber Visa Card
Uber also debuted a rewards credit card this week. The Uber Visa Card, which will be available nationwide beginning November 2, is a no-annual-fee credit card riders can use for all types of purchases to earn rewards down the road.
Cardholders will be able to redeem their rewards for rides and credits toward UberEATS, the service’s online meal ordering and delivery platform. Cash back and gift cards are also available.
Other benefits of the Uber Visa Card include an annual $50 subscription credit for services like Spotify, Netflix and Amazon Prime, mobile phone theft or damage coverage and invites to exclusive events.
Uber is currently in the midst of recovering from some high profile scandals as it welcomes its new CEO into the fold. And despite taking a recent hit in London, the company is similar to Airbnb in that it boasts tremendous potential.
The company’s latest rollouts are evidence that it’s always evolving.
