SPARKLING SAFFIRE ATTRACTING THE WORLD’S BEST TO TASMANIA
· The Event: Saffire will host their second annual Sparkling Saffire weekend on 20-22 July this year.
· Wine Royalty: The event has attracted two global megastars of wine, Tyson Stelzer and Cyril Brun.
An exclusive weekend hosted at Saffire Freycinet which celebrates Tasmanian sparkling wine has attracted some of the world’s biggest names in wine.
Titled Sparkling Saffire and scheduled for the second time in July this year, the event will be hosted by multi-award winning Australian wine presenter Tyson Stelzer, who was named International Wine + Spirit Communicator of the Year in 2015.
In a major recent development, this year’s event will also be co-hosted by the Chef de Cave at France’s acclaimed Champagne Charles Heidsieck and former senior winemaker at Veuve Clicquot, Cyril Brun. Tyson Stelzer regards Cyril Brun as ‘one of the leading talents of the sparkling wine world of the modern era’.
“We feel incredibly privileged to welcome such esteemed figures in the global wine community to Tasmania”, said Saffire General Manager, Justin King. “Tasmania has earned itself an international reputation for exceptional wine and spirits, so that level of appeal has helped us attract these global heavyweights of wine. Hopefully they’ll share a few of their secrets”.
The Sparkling Saffire weekend will be held on 20-22 July this year, benchmarking the finest Tasmanian sparkling wines against some of the world’s best Champagne, Charles Heidsieck. The event will include Saffire’s signature degustation dining experiences, a prestige masterclass hosted by Cyril and Tyson and an opportunity for guests to meet local winemakers from Apogee, House of Arras, Clover Hill, Pirie, Kreglinger, Bellebonne and more. A handful of suites are still available for booking.
