Air Canada plans to offer free in-flight Wi-Fi to its elite frequent flyers, the first carrier in North America to do so.
The airline’s most frequent travelers with Altitude status will get complimentary 6- and 12-month unlimited use passes for Gogo Wi-Fi on Air Canada, Air Canada Express and Air Canada Rouge operated flights.
It is also available on flights powered with Gogo’s 2Ku high-speed satellite service.
It will be offered to Altitude Elite 75K and Super Elite 100K members.
Each year the airline rewards its most frequent flyers with Altitude status.
Eligible members will be able to choose it as one of the Select Privileges as part of the 2018 Altitude benefit year.
“Earlier this year, Air Canada announced plans to launch an all new, digital-first loyalty program in June 2020. While we design the future program, we’re committed to adding new options and benefits for Altitude members today and over the next two years,” said Mark Nasr, the airline’s VP of loyalty and ecommerce.
