Alaska Airlines is getting stricter with those unwieldy carry-on bags.
From the summer Alaska will shrink the size of bags allowed in the cabin to 22” x 14” x 9”.
The change takes effect on June 4.
That will put it in line with most other carriers.
“We’re changing our bag size allowance to make sure that your carry-on bag will be accepted aboard all the flights within your itinerary. This will help you avoid carry-on bag size conflicts and make connections with other airlines easier during your future trips,” the aieline said in a message on its website.
The size reduction is roughly two inches in length and height.
The transition will be helped with more bag sizers placed at airports across the network .
The change is also applicable on Horizon Air and SkyWest operated services, and passengers will still be allowed to bring an extra personal item such as a purse, briefcase, or laptop bag.
