Delta Air Lines is ramping up its presence in the Caribbean this winter with a spate of additional services.
It is adding more capacity to San Juan, Puerto Rico; Nassau, Bahamas; and Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
It is adding more than 3,000 additional seats to Puerto Rico each week with an extra daily flight from New York JFK starting December 21.
On the same day Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport starts daily service to Luis Munoz Marin International Airport.
More capacity is coming to SJU from its Atlanta hub by upgrading service to a widebody Airbus A330-300 aircraft for the winter season.
“The exponential year-over-year growth for Delta’s service in San Juan is a clear indication that demand is on the rise and that Delta is equally committed to being part of Puerto Rico’s promising future,” said Carla Campos, executive director of the Puerto Rico Tourism Company.
The airline is also upgrading its Saturday flight to Nassau from Boston to daily service this winter.
It runs until April 30, 2020.
Starting December 21, Delta will fly a second daily roundtrip from Atlanta to Las Americas International Airport in Santo Domingo.
