FLL becomes the fifth US city linking Cibao International Airport.
JetBlue also serves Dominican Republic’s other airports at La Romana, Puerto Plata, Punta Cana, Santiago and Santo Domingo.
To mark the announcement seats are now on sale today starting at $99 one way.
Santiago flights will be served with JetBlue’s 150-seat Airbus A320 aircraft.
Additionally, new nonstop daily flights to Grand Cayman’s Owen Roberts International Airport are coming to Fort Lauderdale beginning in October 2018, subject to government approval.
It also serves Grand Cayman from new York JFK and seasonally from Boston.
“These new routes continue to solidify JetBlue’s leadership position in South Florida and in the Caribbean where we’ve built a robust and successful network over the years,” said John Checketts, VP of network planning.
“With expanded Caribbean service in Fort Lauderdale we are laying the groundwork for even more growth in already popular destinations.”
