KLM OFFERS CUSTOMERS GETYOURGUIDE TOURS AND ACTIVITIES AROUND THE WORLD
From Skip-the-Line tickets to the Eiffel Tower, shark diving in Cape Town, or panoramic views from New York’s Empire State Building, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines is now offering customers around the world the opportunity to book GetYourGuide tours and activities through KLM using Messenger, KLM.com, the KLM app, or the portal on board KLM flights.
KLM’s new partnership with GetYourGuide means KLM customers can now book over 30,000 tours and activities at more than 2,500 destinations around the globe, directly through KLM’s platforms. Reservations can be made as soon as customers have booked a flight or checked in, during their flight, or at any other moment that suits them. Most GetYourGuide tours and activities can be booked in less than 24 hours’ notice and offer paperless tickets. With GetYourGuide, only a simple QR code scan provides admission, and keeps mobile users on schedule with push notifications for their upcoming tours and activities. The new service will become available through various KLM channels over the coming days and weeks.
“By offering GetYourGuide tours and activities alongside other supplementary products, such as cars and hotels, we make it possible for our customers to arrange their entire journey through the KLM platform of their choice,” said Pieter Groeneveld, Senior Vice President of Digital at Air France KLM. “Customers can do this weeks ahead of a trip, or even during the flight. We have found the right partner in GetYourGuide, as they offer the most complete range of tours and activities. There’s something to suit everyone in a digitally savvy way that matches KLM’s own innovative touchpoints.”
KLM wants to be where its customers are, and offers customers the opportunity to book a range of supplementary products and services throughout their journey. This new partnership reflects both companies’ commitment to keeping pace with their customers’ expectations for flexible, digital travel planning.
“In making our global inventory of tours and attractions accessible to travelers around the world, we look for partners with a finger on the customer’s pulse and an eye on the future,” said Tao Tao, COO of GetYourGuide. “KLM is an undisputed leader in the airline industry in its commitment to digital innovation and we are excited to transform our customers’ trips into amazing experiences together.”
KLM Royal Dutch Airlines was founded in 1919, making it the world’s oldest airline still operating under its original name. In 2004, Air France and KLM merged to form AIR FRANCE KLM. The merger produced the strongest European airline group based on two powerful brands and hubs–Amsterdam Airport Schiphol and Paris Charles de Gaulle. Retaining its own identity, the group focuses on three core businesses: passenger transport, cargo and aircraft maintenance.
In the Netherlands, KLM comprises the core of the KLM Group, which further includes KLM Cityhopper, transavia.com and Martinair. KLM serves all its destinations using a modern fleet and employs over 32,000 people around the world. KLM is a leader in the airline industry, offering reliable operations and customer-oriented products resulting from its policy of enthusiasm and sustainable innovation.
Air France and KLM and their partners Delta and Alitalia operate the biggest trans-Atlantic joint-venture with over 250 daily flights.
KLM is a member of the global SkyTeam airline alliance, offering customers an extensive worldwide network. The KLM network connects the Netherlands to every important economic region in the world and, as such, serves as a powerful driver for the economy.

These are personally answered by more than 250 service agents, who form the world’s largest, dedicated social media team. KLM was the first airline in the world to offer customers the option of receiving flight documents and status updates via WhatsApp, Messenger, Twitter and WeChat. KLM offers its customers a 24/7 one-stop-shop in nine different languages on WhatsApp, Facebook, Messenger, Twitter, LinkedIn, WeChat and KakaoTalk (Korean).
