TAM Airlines announces the launch of Premium Business Class service on flights from the United States and Europe to Brazil in an effort to unify the standard of service for LATAM Airlines Group, comprised of LAN Airlines and its affiliates and TAM Airlines, premium cabins. The new TAM Premium Business concept seeks to offer more efficient and quality service to passengers.
With the unified Premium Business concept, the company offers a menu that brings together the best of Latin American cuisine with a touch of the regional flavors and foods representative of each country where the airline group operates.
“The launch of the Premium Business class concept for TAM and the harmonization of our in-flight service combines the best from TAM and LAN in terms of both menu and customer service, and the result is a world-class product combined with the excellence and comfort that our business class travelers expect,” said Jerome Cadier, vice president of marketing, LATAM Airlines Group.
Highlights of the new service include more meal options and a new menu every month. Both Business Class service for TAM flights within South America and Premium Business Class service on international TAM flights will feature new ingredients and establish more efficient procedures for the crew in order to improve the passenger travel experience. Children, for example, will be served meals first so parents can enjoy their own meal and crew members will have tablets onboard to quickly report incidents in flight so the company can efficiently take the appropriate measures.
Salads, Brazilian fish, homemade biscuits, fish stews and regional dishes such as jambupesto and cará purée are examples of the new ingredients and dishes featured in the main menu. For breakfast, TAM will offer muffins with local flavors and for dessert, Haagen-Dazs ice cream and fruits will continue to be on the menu. The menu for snacks has also been updated with hot and cold gourmet sandwiches, select cheeses and other savory options, depending on the duration of the flight.
Economy Class on international flights will also feature updates including new materials for serving dishes and trays.
The options for meal service will depend on the duration of the flight and departure time. For long haul flights, service will pertain to the meal time that occurs during the flight, for example, dinner and breakfast for night flights and lunch and afternoon snacks for day flights.
“Passengers will receive excellent, efficient service during their flight, allowing them to better utilize their time onboard and arrive refreshed at their destination and ready to begin their vacation or business trip”, said Cadier.
The best resource for passengers to check which meals will be offered onboard is the printed onboard menu. However, coming soon, there will be a section on the TAM website where passengers can check in advance which meals will be served on their flight.
Another improvement in passenger comfort is TAM’s Premium Business class on the Boeing 777 fleet of aircraft, which will offer seats that are 15 percent larger than current seats. The change of Premium Business class seats for the TAM Boeing 777 fleet will be gradually available starting this November through the first half of 2015. Read more travel news at www.travelpulse.com
