Canadian airline WestJet is adding a new US city to its network – Atlanta.
WestJet will start flying to Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson from Calgary from March 3, 2019.
Initially six times weekly, it will increase to daily service on April 7.
WestJet becomes the only carrier flying nonstop on the route.
WestJet passengers can connect on codeshare partner Delta Air Lines’ services out of ATL, including Memphis, Charleston, and New Orleans.
The two airlines are planning to formalize a joint business partnership on US-Canada routes.
They have been codesharing since 2011.
“Non-stop, year-round flights from Calgary to Atlanta connect two major markets in North America and grow opportunities for trade and tourism,” said Ed Sims, WestJet President and CEO.
