Hamilton Princess & Beach Club, the host hotel for the 2017 America’s Cup, is the first property in Bermuda to offer two-seat Renault Twizy vehicles to guests. The fleet of 25 electric buggies are now available on a first-come, first-served basis. Twizy, which stands for “twin” and “easy,” were designed by Renault’s Formula One racing team, and can travel up to 50 miles on a single charge.
Visitors, who are not permitted to rent cars on island, will now have a new option for exploring Bermuda on their own. The narrow four-wheel vehicle is ideal for touring St. George’s, a UNESCO World Heritage Site; the Royal Naval Dockyard, home to the America’s Cup Racing Village and the heart of the event action; and to Gibbs Hill Lighthouse, one of the oldest cast iron lighthouses in the world, which offers panoramic ocean views.
The rental fee is $100.80 per day, and guests must be 18 years and older and hold a valid driver’s license.

About Hamilton Princess & Beach Club
Known to Bermudians and world travelers as ”The Pink Palace,” Hamilton Princess & Beach Club opened its doors on January 1, 1885. Bermuda had gained international recognition two years earlier when Princess Louise, the fourth daughter of Queen Victoria, visited for a winter retreat and called it ”a place of eternal spring.” When the hotel opened, it was named ”The Princess” in honor of the royal visit. More than a century later, a comprehensive restoration program has ensured that the Hamilton Princess & Beach Club remains a Grande Dam among hotels. It is the oldest member of the Fairmont Hotels & Resorts family and is the Official Host Hotel for the 35th America’s Cup with an appropriate location overlooking the stunning blue waters of Bermuda’s Hamilton Harbour. Juxtaposed against the classic pink exterior is a contemporary lobby with museum-quality art by noted artists. A restaurant called Marcus’ features the cuisine of celebrity chef, Marcus Samuelsson. The 1609 Bar & Restaurant and the informal Crown & Anchor round out the culinary offerings and a new Exhale Spa. A convenient jitney shuttles guests to the nearby Beach Club where a private strand and water sports are a welcome escape for guests. The shops of the town of Hamilton are also nearby.
