The cruises will visit “a selection of islands in the Grenadines,” including Grenada, Carriacou, Union Island, Mayreau, Tobago Cays, Bequia, St. Vincent and possibly others.
“Remember, ports visited are subject to change … we go where the captain and the winds take us!” the company website says.
Windjammer Sailing Adventures was started by Charles J. Kropke in the freewheeling spirit of Windjammer Barefoot, which was started in 1947 by the legendary Capt. Mike Burke. That company had legions of devoted fans but ultimately shut down in 2007. Kropke purchased pictures and memorabilia from Barefoot at a bankruptcy auction in 2008.
Kropoke, who is CEO of Windjammer Sailing, also operates Dragonfly Expeditions, which operates ecological and cultural tours throughout the Caribbean and South Florida.
He purchased the Mandalay, a three-masted 236-foot barquentine, from a company in Ecuador that had restored it. Kropke reduced capacity from 72 to 64 berths.
Cruise fares include a cabin/bunk, three meals a day, onboard entertainment, early morning pastries and Bloody Marys, early evening snacks, Rum Swizzles, wine with dinner and 24-hour coffee and tea. Tips are optional with about $75 per person per week is suggested.
Standard cabins below deck with bunk beds are priced at $1,599 per person, based on double occupancy.

There is a $400 discount on the second week of back-to-back sail.
Port charges are $99 are in addition to the cruise fare. Single shares are available at the per-person rate and the company will pair up with another single of the same sex.
Single occupancy is 175 percent of the per-person rate.
Third passenger prices are $1,199 for Commodore Cabin and $1,299 for Admiral Cabin.

NEW Treetop Spa At The Private Island Petit St. Vincent, The Grenadines
June 22, 2012 on 8:27 am | In Beachbooker, Caribbean, Grenada, Spa Resorts | Comments OffProviding an atmosphere of serenity and indulgence that is, literally, above the rest, the Petit St. Vincent Spa lies nestled in the treetops of the island’s Marni Hill, overlooking the turquoise waters of the Caribbean Sea.
Opened in November 2011 following a major island renovation, the spa at PSV provides the final piece to the luxurious private island’s puzzle, offering the ultimate holiday experience for guests looking to loose themselves in paradisiacal “island life”.
Crafted from coconut trees, local driftwood and natural wood that complement the island’s rustic character, the spa is cleverly hidden amongst the lush vegetation, and offers exceptional privacy from the surrounding world.
With four luxurious open-air treatment rooms (that offer the addition of air-conditioning upon request) and private outdoor showers, guests can indulge in a plethora of Indonesian and Caribbean spa treatments created by Petit St. Vincent’s highly skilled team of Balinese and Caribbean therapists combining the finely tuned Indonesian spa culture with the relaxing Caribbean essence of warmth and tranquillity.
Each of the exclusive spa treatments are specifically tailored to the individual guest enabling them to choose which products are used from a selection of carefully blended massage oils made from local herbs, spices and aromatic plants.
The island’s signature treatments include the ancient Shirodhara massage; an Ayurvedic treatment, involving the warm and consistent flow of aromatic oils on the forehead and ‘third eye’, the chakra point just above and between the eyebrows that is said to be the seat of human consciousness.
The oils are allowed to flow over the scalp and through the hair, creating a blissful sensation, whilst enhancing mental clarity and releasing toxins.
Alongside an exquisite selection of additional treatments and body scrubs, each with their individual healing properties that will exfoliate, stimulate circulation and moisturize, the PSV spa therapists have created a custom After Sun Soother for guests in need of some relief from sun exposure.
The treatment uses fresh aloe plants from the gardens of Petit St. Vincent to soothe skin, bringing instant relief from common sunburn- a popular treatment with first day guests!
The PSV Spa also offers a romantic experience for two; the three-hour Marni Hill Touch is perfect for couples looking to rejuvenate and refresh with this unique island treatment. Starting with a foot purity massage, followed by a natural cinnamon body scrub, skin is gently exfoliated in preparation for a soothing wrap of honey and papaya.
The experience continues with 60 minutes of traditional Thai massage and finished with a euphoric head cream bath treatment, a special treatment for the hair, hands, neck and shoulders.
A 7 night stay at Petit St Vincent starts at US$6,300 (£3,988) per cottage, including 3 meals per day, all non-alcoholic beverages and use of all non-motorized water sports and facilities on Petit St. Vincent, based on two persons sharing a cottage.
British Airways (www.ba.com) and Virgin Atlantic (www.virgin-atlantic.com) fly to Barbados direct from London Gatwick. From Barbados, guests fly to Union Island (a 55 minute flight) and from there take a short boat ride to Petit St Vincent.
